Join Fairview in our fight to end homelessness in Gwinnett by participating in our 5k walk and run. All proceeds benefit Home Sweet Home Gwinnett, a homeless housing program created by the Lawrenceville Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army focuses on families with children who presently comprise 41 percent of the homeless population. The average age of a homeless person in Georgia is only nine years old! Recognizing that this crisis has quickly spread beyond the traditional boundaries of the city, The Salvation Army has created Home Sweet Home Gwinnett, to stand in the gap and provide emergency housing for our neighbors in need. Home Sweet Home Gwinnett is currently the only rapid re-housing program in Gwinnett County to stabilize families in crisis by providing furnished apartments, thereby reducing the stigma of homelessness. The program includes comprehensive case management which strives to break the cycle of poverty by addressing its root causes and combating them with education, counseling and personal accountability based on a strong Christian foundation.
Everyone in our county deserves shelter. Just imagine what we can do if we come together in this endeavor.

It’s That Time Fairview ….better grab your walking or running shoes! Run for Shelter 5k is on schedule for November 7, 2015. Our goal is 20,000!
Look for ways you can help by signing up on the posters of need in back of the sanctuary.
Check out our new web site www.runforshelter.org. Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers about our race that helps provide shelter for homeless families in Gwinnett.
More helping hands are much appreciated and needed to make Run for Shelter another success.
The clock is ticking and Run for Shelter 5K run and walk is quickly approaching!
Be sure to mark October 24st on your calendar to attend our
kickoff flea market. We need everyone to pitch and to
stop homelessness in our community “one step at a time.”
You can start by bringing a food item to the lunch such as salads, casseroles,
veggies, or dessert. This is a family affair where all food is enjoyed.
So bring some to share.
Be sure to pick up a registration OR sponsor form for the race in the
narthex. These forms are there for your convenience along with our Run
for Shelter business cards. Take a sponsor form to work along with our
card and ask your company if they would like to make a donation. ANY donation
is good, and will provide free advertising on our T-shirt and web
See you there Fairview! We are doing this for all the faces in God's Kingdom
so they may have shelter and a chance to achieve self worth.
